Decorative picture with map of Saxony and pins of the places visited

During the studio tour Stadt. Land. Bus. we were able to get to know special places of artistic production in Saxony. The Kooperative FUTUR OST organised a total of three day trips to visit places of dance and theatre production away from the metropolises. Saxon artists were also on board to accompany the bus trips with performances. Together, we were able to experience the production venues and stages, learn their stories and talk to the actors about the potential and challenges in rural areas.

27.04.2024 | Studio tour #1

Studio tour #1 started in Dresden and invited participants on a joint excursion to Bautzen and Schirgiswalde-Kirschau. Highlights of the itinerary were the stops at the Thespis Zentrum and TanzART – Zentrum für Tanz, Bewegung & Kunst with a varied programme. With the agents of the Instituts für Festkultur, Sandra Bringer (dramaturge and director | Halle/Saale) and Diana Wesser (performer and visual artist | Leipzig), we set off on an activating journey. From Dresden to the Thespis Centre in Bautzen and back to Dresden for the 10th anniversary of TanzART at the Flox Gallery in Schirgiswalde-Kirschau.

On the occasion of the 12th Saxon Theatre Meeting, the second performative bus tour started in Leipzig, passing through landscapes and lakes in the surrounding area and led to two venues steeped in history: the  KulturKino Zwenkau and the Kulturbahnhof Leisnig. The Leipzig artist Henriette Aichinger artistically accompanied the bus journey through the Leipzig countryside.

The last studio tour of the series Stadt. Country. Bus. series took us from Dresden to the picturesque landscapes of Saxon Switzerland in Kleinhennersdorf. This bus tour was artistically framed and accompanied by the Leipzig artist Angelika Waniek, who artistically explored the question of rural, cultural and future Saxon spaces using stories and images: What kind of landscape are we actually travelling into? Together we embarked on a journey to the SandsteinSpiele landscape theatre and visited the former GDR company holiday home Heymannbaude in Kleinhennersdorf.
