The Tanzplattform Deutschland (TPD) – the most important biennial forum for contemporary dance – is coming to Dresden in 2026. Together with the festival, the Societaetstheater, TanzNetzDresden and villa\wigman are inviting artists from Dresden and all over Saxony to showcase their artistic practice. For a late-night special on 13 March 2026 at the Societaetstheater, seven artists – individuals or duos – are being sought to present artistic interventions from the Dresden dance and performance scene on this evening. The contributions can take the form of site-specific performances, flash mobs or excerpts from pieces, for example.

The pitching offers five professional dance artists or companies based in Saxony the opportunity to present their artistic practice to an expert audience on 15 March 2026. In a compact 15-minute pitch (including a short presentation and subsequent Q&A), artistic approaches, working methods or current projects can be presented.

As part of its project funding, the Cultural Foundation supports nationally significant art and cultural projects in the Free State of Saxony that are characterised by outstanding quality and a clear content profile. Twice a year, applications can be submitted for projects in the fields of visual arts, performing arts, music, film, literature, socio-culture, industrial culture and interdisciplinary projects.

HELLERAU – European Centre for the Arts will host the 2026 Tanzplattform Deutschland, which presents current developments and innovative trends in contemporary dance every two years. An independent jury has selected the productions for the programme, which will be shown in mid-March 2026 at HELLERAU and other institutions in Dresden. The selected productions will be announced on 5 November 2025 and advance ticket sales will start on 1 December 2025.
