Kooperative FUTUR OST

In 2024, the Kooperative FUTUR OST focussed on places of production away from the big stages in Saxony and invited visitors with the studio tour Stadt. Land. Bus to three guided excursion days. We explored production venues and performing arts theatres in rural and suburban areas. 

Since 2022, FUTUR OST has been developing and testing methods that promote artistic quality and collaboration. All actors in Saxony's independent performing arts community are cordially invited to get involved in the Kooperative FUTUR OST and thus actively help shape their expanded working environment in Saxony.

The following events have so far been realised as part of FUTUR OST:

Round Table I took place in May at LOFFT - DAS THEATER and focussed on the topic of how artistic production can take ecological and quantitative sustainability into account in post-pandemic times.

During the Chemnitz festival Der Rahmen ist Programm in June, artists from Chemnitz and representatives of the Festivalfriends network came together at Round Table II to discuss working conditions, opportunities and gaps in the independent performing arts in Chemnitz.

The Hackathon - the highlight of 2022 - followed as an artistic think tank in September at the Festspielhaus HELLERAU and opened up participatory spaces to jointly develop visions and implementation models for the future of the industry in Saxony.

The discussions continued in 2023 with Round Table III at Galerie Flox in Schirgiswalde-Kirschau, which was attended by stakeholders from the arts, culture, administration and politics. This time, the focus was on the scope for action and approaches to dealing with the opportunities and challenges of cultural and artistic production in rural areas.
