Tanzplattform Deutschland 2026

The Tanzplattform Deutschland (TPD) – the most important biennial forum for contemporary dance – is coming to Dresden in 2026. Together with the festival, the Societaetstheater, TanzNetzDresden and villa\wigman are organising two formats in which artists from Dresden and all over Saxony will showcase their artistic practice in pitchings and artistic interventions. The contributions were selected through an open call by a three-member jury consisting of representatives from the Landesverband der Freien Theater in Sachsen (LFTS), HELLERAU – Europäisches Zentrum der Künste and an external expert.

13 March 2026, from 10 p.m., Societaetstheater

As part of a late-night special, seven selected artists – performing solo or in duos – will present short, surprising and site-specific interventions that allow the audience to participate directly. The contributions range from excerpts from plays to performative micro-encounters and are staged flexibly in the space of the Societaetstheater.

PITCHING

15 March 2026, 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m., villa\wigman

The pitching offers five professional dance artists or companies based in Saxony the opportunity to present their artistic practice to an expert audience. In a compact 15-minute format, working methods, artistic approaches or current projects can be presented. The pitching serves to facilitate networking between artists and experts from the fields of curation, production and programme design.

The following were selected:

  • Irina Pauls – Presentation of the tour-ready production mehr als KOHLE with participatory elements and presentation of the dance festival in the lignite mining region
  • go plastic company – Presentation of the artistic approach ‘audio description’ as an artistic medium
  • Miller de Nobili – Presentation of artistic work and the tour-ready productions PACK, There Was Still Time, Hype the Pain
  • Sahar Damoni – Presentation of the tour-ready productions Eat Banana & Drink Pills, اونة – NAWA
  • Forward Dance Company – Presentation of artistic work and the tour-ready productions OPENING and Ich summe, um das Bersten zu übertönen
