How do artists and cultural initiatives work in rural areas? What role do local networks and communities play in artistic work – and what can practitioners from urban and rural areas learn from each other?

The publication documents three artistic trips by the FUTUR OST cooperative as part of the Stadt. Land. Bus. project, visiting six production venues and stages in Saxon Switzerland, the Leipzig region and Upper Lusatia. Travel reports, short interviews, artistic research and a “Map of Visions” offer insights into different ways of working, experiences and perspectives on producing art in rural areas.
