Guest performance as part of 13. Sächsisches Theatertreffen
From 21 to 26 April 2026, the 13th edition of the Sächsisches Theatertreffen (Saxon Theatre Meeting/ STT 26) warmly invites to Görlitz and Zittau. Organised by the Gerhart Hauptmann Theatre Görlitz-Zittau, the festival will showcase the Saxon theatre scene: it brings together current positions, highlights artistic styles and shows how theatre in Saxony is currently influencing aesthetics, politics and society – for a broad audience as well as specialists. In addition to the invited productions from municipal and state theatres, a guest performance from the independent performing arts scene in Saxony will also be presented.
Szene zeigen
Under the title ‘Szene zeigen’, STT 26 and the Landesverband der Freien Theater in Sachsen (LFTS) are jointly organising a guest performance for a smaller, mobile studio production at the Gerhart-Hauptmann-Theater. This call for entries is aimed at artists, groups and collectives from the independent scene in Saxony who impress with their artistic excellence, recognisable signature style and exceptional aesthetics and would like to contribute their work to a festival that showcases the breadth of the theatre landscape in the Free State of Saxony.
The performance will take place on 22 April 2026 at 11:30 a.m. as part of the main programme of the Theatertreffen at the Apollo venue in Görlitz and is eligible for financial support of up to €4,000 (net; plus travel and accommodation costs).
New this year: the seleceted production from the independent performing arts will be evaluated by the STT jury for the first time and will compete on equal terms for the prizes at the Saxon Theatre Meeting.
